Location

Khowarib Lodge lies on the banks of the Hoanib river in the Khowarib Gorge of north west Namibia. This lodge comprises 14 tented chalets and self-catering units elevated on stilts for optimal river views. The proximity to Kaokoland offers a gateway to explore desert-adapted wildlife and unique Himba settlements.

Rooms

The lodge offers 12 en-suite tented twin or double rooms, as well as 3 larger family units, all featuring private verandas overlooking the striking cliffs and riverbed. Rustic, open-air bathrooms enhance the experience of staying close to nature. In addition, 10 new self-catering units with comfortable amenities provide flexibility for visitors.

Dining

Dining at Khowarib Lodge occurs in a spacious lapa, built with local materials and offering traditional architecture. Guests can enjoy a three-course dinner and expansive breakfast buffets featuring healthy fruits, cereals, and freshly baked breads. The dining experience is complemented by the clear, starry skies of Kaokoland.

For those wishing to immerse themselves in the wilderness, Khowarib Lodge offers 9 camping sites along the bank of the Hoanib River. Each site is equipped with 220V mains electricity, a wash-up area, and braai-pitch for cooking. Shared ablution facilities ensure convenience without sacrificing the camping experience.
